Create and develop an innovative and harmless product (non-toxic in cell lines), capable of inactivating marine biotoxins in bivalves (or reducing their levels below the legal limits), during the purification process. The project aims to develop a new methodology/chemical product capable of inactivating/destroying marine biotoxins in live bivalves – contaminated mussels, cockles and clams – during the purification process. The main beneficiaries of the project results will be the purification centres and the harvesters of bivalve molluscs.
